Changes for 2018
-
For 2018 and afterward, students entering the fair will be required to
attend a school within our region, regardless of where they live. This modification to the eligibility
requirements brings the NJRSF into agreement with neighboring ISEF-affiliated fairs.
-
For team projects, we will require both team members to attend school in our region. Teams that do
not meet this requirement must submit an appeal and will be allowed
to enter on a case by case basis.
-
As announced in 2017, we will no longer accept teams of 3 students. Teams of 2 students may
still enter and will be eligible for the ISEF Trip Awards.
-
We are relaxing the requirement that the Adult Advisor sponsoring the project be a teacher. The registration form
has been modified to cover the case of Advisors that are not affilliated with a high school. Students will still need to
specify the school where they attend full time. Home schooled students will be asked to specify
the school district where they would attend if not home schooled, so that the home school status can be
checked.
-
ISEF has discontinued the requirement for students to have an individual SSP ID; thus, it has been removed from our registration process.
-
The NJRSF Research Plan Form is being introduced for 2018 as the NJRSF version for the ISEF Form 1A Attachment.
All Research Plans must be submitted using this form.
-
The Adult Advisor sponsoring the project will be asked to submit a web‐form similar to 1C if the work was
performed anywhere other than a Regulated Research Institution (i.e. at school, home, etc.). The web‐form has
been integrated into the Sponsor Acknowledgement page, which can be accessed by logging in
to the website and selecting Entry Status from the dropdown on the Teacher/Advisor tab on the navbar.
-
ISEF has let us know that uploading of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) will NOT be required.
You can refer to them in your Research Plan and on Form 3, and that will be sufficient.
